Now, I turn the spotlight on my smart and sexy series...

The Breakers’ Bad Boys series is a combination of several things that I love…bad boys, military men, MMA fighters, bikers, and best of all – spicy hot romance! While my IAD series deals with military men and women working for a covert agency, I wanted to take a different stance for the BBB series. Breakers is a town that caters to men and women who have just come home after leaving the service, and because of that, I wanted to show what happens when they try to acclimate back into “normal” life. The men of Breakers may be bad boys, but they all still have integrity and honor…just like heroes should.

I like to think of the town of Breakers as it’s very own character of this series. It’s not just a location for me. Breakers has personality, it has purpose, and above all, it has heart.

Like any interesting town, the people add to the essence of the place. Each book of this series is not just about two people. It is also about how those people fit into the town and how they interact with their friends and family. I want readers to feel as if they know the town and the people of my series, and feel like they are visiting old friends each time they read one of my books.

FIGHT HARD

The Fight Hard Gym and Rehabilitation Center is owned by bad boy Jared "Hammer" Caufield, ex-Army Ranger and former MMA fighter. He founded the gym to continue his love of the sport, even though he no longer competes, and to also give athletes and military personnel somewhere safe to come and heal their injuries.

Once you walk through the doors of Fight Hard, you can usually find hard-bodied men working out on the equipment, on the mats, or in the ring. But don't let that fool you. Fight Hard also offers a Girl Fight class that teaches the women of Breakers how to kick ass!

SINFULLY SWEET BAKERY

Across the street from Fight Hard is the Sinfully Sweet Bakery, owned by Kalista Redford (soon to be Kali Caufield). Kali works there with her two assistants, Becca Nuria and Anna Cortez, along with some part-time workers that included Anna's nephew, Nate. Its a great place to nibble on some sweets while watching the eye candy going in and out of the gym!

For those of you who have read Nyght's Eve and wondered what the hell a Cronut is...here is a pic!

INK THIS

A few doors down from Sinfully Sweet is Ink This, the tattoo parlor owned by Nikita Nuria. Stop on by if you wanna get some ink, but just a friendly warning - a woman whose past is shrouded in mystery, Nikita isn't the most friendly resident of Breakers.

THE FOX HOLE

Take a walk down the street if you feel like grabbing a drink and having some fun. Don't mind all the bikes parked out in front. It may be a biker bar, but it's a safe place to visit...the Fox men make sure of that. Most of the men and women working there are former military and they make sure everyone stays in line...although they sometimes enjoy a good bar brawl.

Owner and ex-Army Ranger Dante Fox may think he runs the place now that his father, Malcolm, has retired, but we all know that manger, Zoe Lang is the one who really keeps things running smoothly. Stop in for a drink and some food, and chances are you will find some entertainment as well, whether it be shooting some pool, playing some darts, dancing or just watching Dante and Zoe argue!

THE BOARDING HOUSE

If you feel like going for a drive, you can head out of town and take a few back roads to the Beaumont Estate. The first building you will see is the Beaumont Boarding House. Created as a haven for men and women to rest and relax after leaving the military, it is also a place where people can stay while they are doing their rehab at Fight Hard. The caretaker on site is Hunter Savante, although I don't think you want to bother him unless you really need to...

THE POND

Further down the path, you will see the pond that is located in the center of the new buildings constructed on the Beaumont estate. The pond is a beautiful place, with a path winding around it that people can run on, or workers from the rescue center can take the dogs for walks.

THE NEW BEAUMONT MANOR

On the other side of the pond is the house that Evie Beaumont lives in with her two cousins, Francesca and Beckett Savante. Evie lives in the middle section of the house with Daryk "Dare" Nyght, and Francesca has the right wing of the house to herself, while Beckett resides in the left wing.

BEAUMONT RESCUE CENTER

The red barn-like structure that is home to the Beaumont Rescue Center is a sanctuary for animals that have been abused and abandoned. Founded by Evelyn Beaumont, she strives to create a safe environment for these animals to heal until she and the workers can find each animal a new home. The Beaumont Rescue Center is a family run business, and the facilities include a veterinarian's office that is run by Evie's cousin, Beckett Savante.

Again, for those of you who have read Nyght's Eve, here is a pic of Hero, the little Boxer that Dare and Evie rescue!

AND FINALLY...

No matter how many interesting places Breakers has to visit, the main attraction of the town has to be... all the HOT men!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the tour. May you all come to love the Breakers' Bad Boys as much as I do...HAPPY READING!

Jared “Hammer” Caufield is a former Army Ranger and retired professional MMA champion that had to give up his fighting career due to a knee injury. He is a bad boy through and through, but that doesn’t stop him from craving the sweet little bakery owner, even though he knows she is too good for him…

Bakery owner, Kalista Redford, is a woman who has had a difficult past. She has always struggled with her self-esteem, and her last breakup hasn’t done anything to help improve her opinion of herself. When Kalista finds herself pursued by the dark and dangerous man she has secretly dreamed about, will she be able to follow her heart or will past insecurities threaten to ruin her chance at true love?

Daryk “Dare” Nyght is a man on the edge. As a trauma surgeon in the Army, he has seen his share of combat, but his high-risk lifestyle has left him burnt out and in desperate need of some peace. A man without a home, he heads to the small town of Breakers to get some rest and spend some time with a few friends, but what he finds there is more than he ever expected...

Evie Beaumont is a woman who seems to have it all. She has grace, beauty and wealth, but she hides from painful memories by burying herself in her work at the rescue center she runs. When these two lost souls come together in a clash of wills, the sparks between them are undeniable. Will passion be enough or can they find a way to open their hearts for a chance at true love?

  16. If I could live anywhere in the world it would be on a tropical island setting! I have always liked the beach/tropical environment and it is so sensual!

  17. I would move to Arizona to the desert - dry heat would be the best type of environment for the health issues that I have. But since I am so high maintenance I would have to bring my whole family with me (to be around to help me out) plus my Drs (who know how to deal with me and my various conditions and solutions we have used to treat them). That means winning a MAJOR LOTTERY first! Hopefully I will get to visit again soon.

  18. If I could live anywhere in the world it would always be where ever my husband is. He is military reserves so he is always having to leave to go out of town for weeks or months at a time and sometimes he even has to deploy stateside and we are unable to go with him. My children and I miss him so much when he has to go. A part of me is missing so there is no place on this planet that I'd rather be than with him. Laurie Roma's "Breaker Bad Boys" series is one of the best besides her 3013 :) because I can relate with the storyline and the characters. I have yet to finish Nyghts Eve but what I have been able to read I can see myself in Evelyn and I see my husband in Daryk. I love being able to relate to her stories :) As always you are awesome Laurie!!

  21. So many places in the world to choose from! Like Shan I would choose Ireland. Its a beautiful country with amazingly friendly people. There are pubs everywhere with lots of fun people to watch and or meet. I personally love overcast-y rainy weather so its perfect for me. And of course going anywhere else in Europe is just a hop skip away.

  22. I would love to live in Tahiti. That would be the ideal place for a retiree. The pace is slower, the weather gorgeous, the land is lush, the water blue, the people friendly, awesome food, and beautiful homes. I can picture myself on the veranda sitting on a large sofa swing, my ereader in my hand, a pitcher of lemonade and very relaxed. Sweeeet! :-)

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  26. I would love to live in Ireland. I'm Irish myself, and I traveled to Ireland with my grandfather as a little girl, and it was simply magical. The diversity, the folklore, the countryside...I wouldn't mind being in the middle of all that. Plus, the accents help :)
