~ Symposium: Let's Get It Started! ~

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the first Symposium of 2014!

For this special symposium I have asked my friends and fellow authors to let you know a little bit about what they are working on to start off the new year.

There are so many wonderful stories in the works…I’m sure you will be pleased to find out what is coming soon for your reading pleasure!

LAURIE ROMA: I have a lot coming up in 2014, and I can’t wait to share all of my new stories! To start off the year I’m focused on two series…3013 (sci-fi/futuristic) and my all new contemporary series. I am so excited to be working on the 3013 series with four talented authors that I have the honor of calling my good friends and sharing my world with them. My next two books in the series will be 3013: CLAIMED and 3013: SALVATION. I’m also very proud to release the first book of my all new contemporary series. It has a little bit of everything…bad boys, military men, MMA fighters, bikers and best of all – romance. For fans of my IAD and Arcadians series, have no fear; I’m planning on continuing both of those series and have no plans on stopping either any time soon. I’m both pleased and grateful that my readers have allowed my characters into their hearts, and I can’t wait to continue to entertain them with new and exciting stories!

Alexis Donovan is a woman whose dream of falling in love with the perfect men has been dashed because of her infertile status. Still recovering from a war that almost destroyed the world, humans have fought to rebuild and have once again opened their shields to outside visitors. As a liaison officer for alien races that are visiting Earth, Alexis does her best to ignore what she can never have, but when she is put in charge of four visiting alien warriors, her entire world changes...

Dragons Warriors from Arcadia, Xavier and Galan Tesera and their best friends Thorn and Brydan Volis, have been curious about Earth ever since they helped the humans defeat their enemy years ago. As commanders of their own space vessel they travel the galaxies searching out the unknown, but in their hearts they know they will never truly be satisfied without a mate by their side.

When the four Dragon Warriors land on Earth they are instantly enamored with the sharp-tongued liaison who ignites a burning passion in their hearts, and know that she is the mate they have been searching for who will complete their souls. Will Alexis take a chance on four alien warriors or will the fear of leaving everything she has ever known destroy her chance of finding true love?

N.J. WALTERS: It’s a new year and I’m back at work after enjoying the Christmas holidays. I’d originally planned for the Hades’ Carnival series to be four books. When I finished the last one, I thought I was done. But so many people wrote to me asking what happened next. Like all romance readers, they want a happy ending for the remaining immortal shapeshifting warriors. And, when I thought about it, I did too. When I was writing Howl of the Wolf and got to the end I found myself thinking about Mordecai, Phoenix and Stavros. So even though I thought I was done, turns out I’m not. I’ve been working on novellas for each warrior. When I’m finished I’ll submit them to my editor and see what she thinks. Happy New Year to you all. Hope 2014 is your best year yet!

Hell’s last chance could mean their last breath.
Hades’ Carnival, Book 4

When artist and tarot reader Sabrina Wolfe runs across an old carousel wolf in an antique shop, she can’t resist buying the compelling symbol of her totem animal, her protector. But she isn’t prepared when the wooden animal comes to fang-flashing life—and shifts into a darkly sexy man.

Arand is the last of seven immortal warriors sworn to protect the Lady of the Beasts. Freed by Sabrina’s touch, their instant physical attraction is hot, intense—yet neither is safe until twenty-four hours have passed and the curse is truly broken.

Hades plans to use every one of those hours to unleash his last effort to control the world—or see both the warrior and his woman dead. Though help comes from unexpected quarters, Arand and Sabrina alone risk paying the ultimate price for victory. Their lives…and their very souls.

Warning: This book contains an immortal warrior who can pour on the heat, a woman who can take it, gods, demons, and downright nasty battles. Now really, does it get any better than this?

JOEY W. HILL: I have about six projects in process, but here’s what’s releasing soonest. The four-novella series, Naughty Bits, comes out April-July 2014. In these, Madison, a Boston accountant, inherits her sister’s erotica shop down south. Logan, the Dom hardware store owner next door will help her open up her submissive side - purely to make her a better shopkeeper, of course! Excerpt/Summary  I’m also writing a Nature of Desire series book! Gen, Marguerite’s friend and employee from Ice Queen/Mirror of My Soul, will be part of my first F/f/m ménage. Her heroine/hero will be Mistress Lyda from Branded Sanctuary, and sexy waiter Noah from Hostile Takeover. I’m hoping for a spring release. Check out the Chapter One excerpt. No covers for these yet, but Laurie’s posting one from Unrestrained, my latest, an RT BookReviews Top Pick! Click to read Chapter One of Unrestrained!

Athena is an accomplished businesswoman in control of every aspect of her life. But since the death of her husband, she’s had the desire to explore submissive cravings she’s had for some time. Unfortunately, Athena is known as a Mistress, because that’s the role she’s always played.

Her type A personality was strong enough to serve her husband as a Domme because that’s what he needed. It’s not until she meets Dale, a retired Navy SEAL, that she attempts to discover what her own submissive desires are. But letting go of her control is not so easy.

Fortunately, Dale is an accomplished Master who can help Athena live out her fantasies. And as she slowly surrenders to his touch, both of them will learn more about the nature of love between Dominant and submissive, and how it defies all expectations.

LEA BARRYMIRE: Ooh. I've been working on some super secret stuff... that isn't so secret anymore! Danica Avet, Cara Carnes, Amy Ruttan and myself are working on a sexy superhero story being published by Ellora's Cave. The first book, Touched by Lightning, is coming soon...

Come check out the world we built!

ZAYNE MICHAELS: Ah, 2014, you snuck up on me, you sly little devil. Am I the only one who looked at the calendar and choked because January is almost over? So far this year, I’ve been holed up in the writing cave with vampires and werewolves and dragons, maybe a mercenary or two, and a couple of shifters who need an attitude adjustment. While something I try not to make a habit of, I’ve been manuscript hopping like crazy the past few weeks. It’s actually kind of fun, though, to wake up and wonder, “Hmm, where the hell are we going today?”First up on the ever expanding to-do list for 2014 is Letters to Julian, part of a collection I’m working on with a group of talented ladies for Valentine’s Day. An ice dragon, an elf, some hilarious miscommunication, and a whole lot of romance. What’s not to love?

After losing his best friend in a meteor storm that wiped out entire cities, Brady Dane finds himself alone and scared, simply trying to make it from one day to the next. Surrounded by chaos, desperation, and death, he turns his compass toward Georgia and the refuge rumored to be established in the military base there. Forming emotional attachments will only make him vulnerable, so he keeps himself guarded, choosing to travel alone, but that all changes when he crosses paths with a stranger on a lonely stretch of highway.

Anthony Grimel—Grim to his friends—is having a really bad day. Collapsing on the side of the road after being robbed and beaten by a band of raiders, he’s ready to give up. He never expected to be saved by an angel with golden hair and a smile to rival the sun. Finding purpose once again in being Brady’s guardian, his protector, Grim vows to get his new companion safely to the refuge, but he never expected to lose his heart in the process.

Love isn’t always easy, though, a fact Brady quickly discovers. Wading through a new, complicated relationship is hard enough, but now, he’s not sure who to trust—who is friend and who is foe. One hard truth becomes glaringly obvious not long after his arrival. Within these walls, there is no life or death, there is only survival.

Welcome to Purgatory.

LACEY THORN: Last year was a great year for me, and I’m even more excited for this year. I have so many new projects to start as well as taking you back to visit with some old friends from my current series. First up this year is a brand new Pleasures trilogy! This one is more along the lines of the first trilogy about the Greyson sisters! I think the fans of my Pleasures books will be very happy! I’m also planning new books in the following series for this year: Bare Love, Marquetti Amore, Debtor’s Daughters, Blood Magic, and the Lottery Brides! So stay tuned! This year is going to rock!

River, Tara, and Kat met in the police academy, decided to forgo becoming cops and try life as private investigators instead. That easily, Angel Investigations was born.

Targeted by a killer, Kat is forced into lockdown, guarded by the three men she most wants to escape, along with her vivid memories of the night she indulged in her wildest fantasies. One woman can’t have three men as lovers forever… Can she?

Rafe has loved Kat since they were kids, spending his entire life looking after her and introducing her to his two best friends and the pleasure of being with them. He knows Kat loved every moment, despite her fleeing the following morning.  Now Rafe, Liam, and Adrian are back, helping to protect Kat and wanting only one more thing— to arrange for her pleasure, in hopes of showing her just how possible it is to keep three men forever.

JENIKA SNOW: I have a lot planned for 2014, with a goal of writing at least 25 books. This year in May will mark my one year anniversary of writing full time, and I never thought I would be here today, but am so very grateful I am able to. I started off 2014 with the second story in my Sweet Water (shifter) series, and have the next four to be released and the fifth currently being written. I plan on working on my Fighters of Absinthe series, more Sweet Water, and I also have a new series in the works that I'm pretty excited about that is a bit different than what I've written, but also combines two genres that I've delved into before. The only difference is I have now combined them into one theme. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. This year will be filled with a lot of writing, planning, and connecting with readers.

Maverick Storm is a lion shifter, but he is also a monster. For the better part of nineteen years he was a hitman for some of the most ruthless shifters in the world. He is a cold-blooded killer without remorse. But that isn't him anymore. He is trying to live a normal life, but it seems fate has other plans, especially when his mate is the daughter of his enemy.

Kettah Milokov is a Pallas's Cat shifter, and the daughter of the biggest Russian mafia boss in America. Her life is not her own, so she leaves, but can't escape when she runs into her mate, Maverick. He is a heartless killer, and the male nightmares are made of—or so she first believes. Maverick must protect her when she is found, and that means he will have to unleash his lion to keep her safe, and kill his enemy.

SUSAN HAYES: 2014 is gearing up to be a very busy year. (My favourite kind.) I am currently working on my first book in the 3013 Series I am co-authoring with Laurie Roma and a few other very talented writers. If my muse stays cooperative I should be looking at a mid-February release date for 3013: Renegade. I am having so much fun writing about my renegade heroine and the two Alliance Elites who are trying to tame her. I’m going to be very sad when this story is over. (So I’ll just have to write another one in this series very soon.) Once I have Renegade done, I will be turning my attention from sci/fi to the modern world for Wilde Ride, Book two in the Wilde Brothers series.

Police Officer Ben Wilde is married to his work, and he wants a divorce. A third generation cop, he knows the price his career demands, but he still hopes for more out of life than taking down criminals and late nights with his canine partner, Chase.

Veterinarian Kelly Towers loves all animals, but she has a special place in her heart for Chase and Ben, his human handler. When her clinic is broken into, it brings the sexy Chicago cop and his four footed partner to her door, and the sparks that have been smoldering between them finally combust into flames.

Two passionate souls, two demanding careers and too many secrets lead to a Wild chase...

SAM CRESCENT: This year I’ve continued with my biker series, The Skulls. Each book is dedicated to a series character that I’ve submitted and my publisher, Evernight Publishing has accepted it. Tiny is the fourth book in my series and I’ll be working on the fifth very soon. Other books in the series include, Lash, Murphy, and Nash. I’m also working on a hot alpha wolf who is determined to claim his woman and not let anyone step in his way. 2014 is looking at being a year for bad boys for me. I do love a bad boy and I’m going to spend the year exploring all kinds.

Damon’s a loner. He travels from place to place never settling down. His passions have left him lonely. There is not a couple out there who can handle his desires. Then his bike breaks down in Creek Valley, and all bets are off.

Andy and Meredith have been happily married for a few years. When Damon stumbles into their lives, neither of them anticipated the change he was about to make. Even happily married, Meredith and Andy knew they needed more. Damon sees the truth in the married couple. Meredith is a true submissive while Andy is a switch, and this complicates their relationship, each seeking from the other something that they cannot give.

Can they trust this man to complete them and give both of them everything they ever wanted? Damon knows it’s a challenge, but he’s never backed down from a fight. They could all be happy, and it’s a challenge he’s more than prepared to face.

ROSANNA LEO: 2014 has been an exciting year for me, and I've been living in the world of shape shifters with my Gemini Island Shifters series. However, for the next while, I'll be working on something completely different. I am in the midst of a contemporary erotic romance, yet untitled, set in Las Vegas. While on a recent trip there with my hubby, I knew I had to set a book in Sin City. However, this book will feature a heroine who despises gambling, and a hero who makes his living running a casino. Sparks will fly in this one. Can these two people possibly have a happy ending?

Lynx shifter Marci Lennox has worked at the shifter-friendly Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort all her adult life. It’s more a home to her than a job. When her boss goes on vacation, putting her in charge, Marci is thrilled. Finally a chance to prove she has the mettle to run a resort.

Her confidence is shaken when new employee Anton Gaspar appears. One look at the mysterious tiger shifter spells trouble for Marci and for her sex-crazed lynx. Anton is judgmental, condescending, and a little misogynistic. Unfortunately, Marci’s lynx thinks his tiger is more delicious than an oversized bag of Maltesers.

It becomes difficult for Marci to remain neutral near Anton, especially when she learns of his troubling past and unusual family circumstances. However, when dangerous incidents occur on the resort, the lynx woman and tiger man join forces to combat the threat to the lodge and its guests.

Harder still is the quest to combat their explosive feelings for one another. As they explore their mutual passion, they realize the danger at the resort is more insidious than they ever envisioned. Their dreams, their love, and their very lives are at stake.

SKYE DRAGEN: 2014 has started with a bang for me. I am currently working on the edits for an epic fantasy piece called “Twisted Roses” that I’m hoping to have subbed to a publisher by the end of the month. It has everything I love in a story: dragons, gay men, and a big baddie for my men to vanquish. :) The other piece that I’m working on is a Valentine’s Day piece for a series with the lovely Zayne Michaels, Cheryl Dragon, and Kalista Kyle. Paranormal matchmaking has never been so much fun. I can’t wait to see what the other ladies are working on. Overall, the game plane for 2014 is to write often and write as much as possible.

Forest has been on his own since the world came crashing down months ago. Trusting someone was never on his list of things to-do but finding his sister definitely is. His trip to New Orleans is filled with peril but it’s about to get even more interesting when he meets a new friend and protector on the causeway.

Manny never expected to play bodyguard to a beautiful blond with more than a few submissive tendencies. With demons of his own to battle, it’s been hard fighting off Forest’s as well. However, he hears about a place where they might finally be safe enough to deal with their issues.

Camp Purgatory offers security and a new way of life. However, it is not what is in the brochure that they really have to worry about.

REBECCA JOYCE: Wow! 2014 is shaping up to be a big year, if I can manage to get it all done in time. Of course, I will be continuing with the Men of Treasure Cove Series, but as a treat to the readers, I have started a spin off called…Celestial Nights! That’s right folks, all those loveable, wacky characters from the next town over are getting their own stories, starting with the naked sheriff Pisces!  I am also working on a 6-book series called, Simple Tennessee. For those who have read the Treasure Cove books, you’ll be happy to know that book one is Garrett, Zac & Pandora! Then, if that wasn’t enough, I plan on working on the 4th installment of the Armstrong Brothers, while finding the time for my first ever MANLOVE series. Like I said, 2014 is going to be a big year…so stay tuned!!!

Mason Armstrong wants to be left alone. When the military gives him his walking papers, he heads home to forget. Too bad, he has to deal with family and the nagging town sheriff in the process. It’s a small price to pay for freedom and he deals with it the only way he knows how…he avoids them.

Annabelle Marcus is a single mother making a fresh start for herself and her young son. When a teaching position opens up in Texas, she jumps at the chance and accepts the job. Controlled and organized, she attempts to integrate herself into the community, only to find out that maybe she’s bitten off more than she can chew.

Lost and alone and set in their ways, two lives intersect only to discover that just maybe they have something more to give. When duty calls, can the promise of a future be enough to sustain, or will the ultimate diversion end it all?

DEBRA ANN FISK: Thank you again for inviting me to be on your blog. This year is started off with my first book being released, Irresistibly Delicious. Needless to say it’s been very exciting and also so much to learn as a first time author. The Siren/Bookstand authors have been awesome to work with.  I’ve been fortunate enough to have been well received by readers making the bestsellers list for Mainstream Contemporary Romance. Right now I’m working on book two of this series titled Irresistibly Dangerous, also I have a Sci-Fi romance started. One of my main goals this year is to try to increase my writing word count and learn a bit more about marketing.

One feisty Southern chef. One sexy city doctor. One thousand miles apart. Trauma draws them together, but will circumstances pull them apart?

Chef Olivia Carson’s painful past haunted her until she discovered the healing solace at the Cozy Cove Inn. She fell in love with the bed and breakfast and its owner, Myra. But her world is rocked to its core after Myra has a life threatening emergency.

When Brady Matthews, Myra's son and a well-known cardiologist in NYC, shows up to care for his mother sparks fly in more ways than one. Olivia and Brady disagree about everything, all the while fighting the sexual attraction that draws them together. As Brady begins to reevaluate his life and Olivia creates a new career for herself, the risk of scandal and past secrets threatens to rip them apart.

Will a headstrong surgeon and a gourmet chef learn to accept love? Or will they choose professional success with a side order of loneliness?

SIOBHAN MUIR: What am I working on this year? Glad you asked. I happen to be writing the prequel to my latest release, The Navy's Ghost. It's entitled Bronco's Rough Ride and features a SEAL from Beta Squad before he joined the squad and the woman who is now his wife in The Navy's Ghost. And after Bronco, you can look forward to Rimshot and his missing sister, and Bam-Bam and his Think Ink lady. Don't know who they are? Check out The Navy's Ghost.

A SEAL is strongest with her Team…

Ensign Christiana "Ghost" Brickman is the only female SEAL to survive BUD/S training, a real Navy Jane. But when an ambush ends her career as an active SEAL, she’s free to pursue other interests. Like her two best friends Lt. Jim "Retro" Waters and Chief Warrant Officer Todd "Magic" Hunter. She's wanted them for over a year, but never dared to approach them while in the squad.

Retro has fought his dark desires since high school, certain the need to share a woman unnatural. Magic had never considered sharing before Ghost mentions it, but it solves his dilemma of choosing between his best friend and his woman. But Retro balks at Ghost's offer to share and retreats from both when she marries Magic.

Everyone feels Retro’s loss, but he ignores the ache of their broken connection in favor of living ‘normal.’ When Ghost and the other wives of Beta Squad are kidnapped, Retro must reevaluate how much both Ghost and Magic mean to him. And he must decide how far he's willing to go to save the woman he loves, before she becomes the Navy's ghost.

HENNESSEE ANDREWS: This year has started busy for me with edits coming in for my upcoming series, Rough in the Saddle. What started out as a free read for the Love Has No Boundaries event has turned into a deliciously hot series featuring my favorite, cowboys. While I write in different genres depending on the mood of my muse, I enjoy MM romance the most. This series has been so much fun to create and write. I find myself bouncing in my chair a little more each day as I near the release of the first book, Macon’s Story. This is the original free read, revamped, with a new cover. Guess what? It will stay free. Saddle up, February 1st kicks off the fun.

Macon Sumner loves two things in the world. One is taboo, his best friend Wade Sutherland. His second love is the rodeo, where their problems begin. When a nosy reporter clicks a picture at the rodeo, capturing Wade and Macon kissing, life is never the same and neither are their relationships with their family and peers.

As outcasts in their small, narrow-minded town, Wade and Macon feel the effects daily. Wade becomes secretive with their relationship, foolishly believing that hiding is the answer. What he doesn’t realize is how much harm he is inflicting on Macon by doing so.

Sneaking away for intimate moments with Wade are as hurtful as the glares Macon receives from people who are supposed to be neighbors, friends. Even roping buddies have stopped inviting them to functions. He can’t stand how he feels or how Wade is treating him. When he receives a call from Zander Wesley, he sees a new life and opportunity for him and Wade.

TYMBER DALTON: 2014 is starting off with a bang with the release of "A Wolf in the Fold" (Triple Trouble 6) and "Broken Toy" (Suncoast Society). I'm almost finished with "Triple Cross" (my working title for Triple Trouble 7) and am trying to finish up Placida Pod 5, Coffeeshop Coven 2, and a BUNCH of other books, including the next several installments of my Good Will Ghost Hunting series (since that dang Ryan Ausar refuses to stay out of my Triple Trouble series LOL). And then there's always the chance of--ooh, squirrel! Something shiny catching my mind's attention and then I veer off and write whatever has cropped up and started screaming at me for my attention. LOL

Cockatrice, wolf-otes, and dragons, oh, my. All Elain wants this Christmas is for life to settle down and give her a break so she can enjoy her three hunky wolf shifter hubbies Ain, Brodey, and Cail, as well as her extended family.

Fat chance of that. Current events are woven from ancient vengeance. The future of the new mega-Clan, and lives of countless innocents, hinge upon the Triad of Elain, Lina, and Mai untangling threads from the tapestry of the past.

Fate's a real bitch...but so is Elain. She isn't a wolf to be trifled with, especially where loved ones are concerned. It's time for her to embrace her heritage and her destiny, and she's determined to do so with open paws. With lives on the line, Elain must dig deeper than ever before and figure out how to walk her new path, or risk losing everything when she discovers lurking amongst them A Wolf in the Fold.
