In honor of Halloween — a day you can dress up and be anyone you want without people looking at you funny — I asked my friends and fellow authors what book or scene they have written that was inspired by their own naughty thoughts and fantasies!

LAURIE ROMA: Fantasies are the foundation for all my stories, and the hotter the better! From wild, passionate quickies in an elevator, to hot and steamy encounters in an office…all of these scenes are meant to get your blood pressure rising. N.J. WALTERS: Fantasies, we all have them and, as a writer, sometimes mine end up in my books. I think the biggest fantasy I have is the belief in the HEA (Happily Ever After). After all, that’s why I write romance to begin with. But if you’re looking for a deeper glimpse into my fantasy world, check out my first published book Annabelle Lee. Annabelle works in a library and I worked in a bookstore at the time I wrote this story. There’s a very sexy seduction scene that happens while she’s at work. Let’s just say it’s probably not safe to have sexual sparks that hot near all those books. Fire is a distinct possibility. I’m not saying what happened to Annabelle happened to me, but who knows what really goes on behind closed doors at the library…or the local bookstore.

In Race the Sun, my hero was likely a little more noble than I would be in my wishes, but I’d like to think I’d use them for “the greater good.” Though, telepathy would be somewhere at the top of that list. LORIE O'CLARE: When I leave my home (from where I sit at my desk writing) and see other homes in my neighborhood, go to shops downtown, or even my grocery store, I often imagine what people that I see are like. Are they happy? Sad? Or something completely different... I'm an avid fan of "what if". What if the person pushing that grocery cart toward me wasn't really human. What if while I slept at night they were experiencing a type of life that I can only imagine. What if I could experience that type of living too. In my werewolf books I live that fantasy of being someone else. While many indulge, one night a year, in dressing up and being someone different, I indulge in that year round. I love dressing up. But the true thrill is walking in the shoes of a man, or a woman, who lives in my world, walks my streets, shops in my stores, yet doesn't see the world as I do. These werewolves aren't dodging silver bullets. They are as incredibly good and bad as humans. My werewolves don't concern themselves with being politically correct. An alpha male is predatory, incredibly territorial, dominant and powerfully strong. His lady is even stronger. Have fun over Halloween. Please be safe. And when the costume is taken off and put away, indulge in one of my books and live a fantasy every day.

REBECCA JOYCE: I was planning to take this one to the grave, but what the hell! In “The Sheriff’s Jailbirds”, there is a scene, where Charlotte dresses up for her men. I thought long and hard about putting that scene in, but figured…write what I know. And I know Star Wars! Well folks, that particular scene came straight out of the Rebecca Joyce closet! Yep, that’s right, I wore a sexy, sleek Princess Leia costume to entice my beloved….and guess what? I WORKED! The light saber rose and I battled my dark side and won!

ERIKA REED: When I first read Laurie’s idea for this month’s synopsis, the first thing that came to mind was the sex scene that occurred in Blazing Inferno. This scene was inspired when I visited the firehouse my friend Sean worked out of as I did my research for my fireman story. After meeting all the attractive and yes, HOT men that were working on shift that day, I was able to get up close with one of their fire trucks and envisioned my character Kasey being bound up by the fire hoses as one of her sexy firemen had their wicked way with her. I added this scene to my story in Blazing Inferno, The Men of Inferno series.

LORI KING: Gaby Larkin got to act out of my fantasies in Point of Seduction. The idea of making love on the beach in the waves under the moon and stars is one of my all time favorite fantasies. Mind you I've never even seen the ocean and the only beach I've visited was at the local lake, but I have a vivid imagination. And in my imagination sand never gets into places it shouldn't. :)

Tony is very much based on my own Sir, so there were a few things in there that were things we've done/do in real life...and a couple of the scenes were wish list scenes. LOL Although in some of my books, there have been a few cases where baddies met their end as a direct result of revenge fantasies. :) Nope, won't name names there, but that's one of the perks of being a writer, that you can kill and maim people fictitiously and it lives on forever in your works. CASSIDY BROWNING: I know many authors dread the times they have to get down and dirty and dive head first into the required sex scenes. For me however, they are one of the easiest parts of the book to write. Our Keyhole Series from Omnific were especially easy since they feature a man with his two women. This is every man’s fantasy so every one of the scenes in those books were the chance for me to share some of my favorite fantasies. Our Siren series under the name Cassidy Browning however are often more of a challenge since each book has a woman and her two men. To write these I think, “What would make my ladies hot” and then try to write that scene to the best of my ability hoping they will do just that. So, even those become my fantasies to some extent. God, I love my job.
Another gorgeous hunk, Dante Hunter, is also at Clifftop to market the resort owner's new cookbook, Stealth Veggies. The guys are both younger than her and way out of her league-or so she thinks. Even worse, Kane is a wisecracking eccentric with a skewed fashion sense and an odd taste in music who writes late at night with a bottle of wine. Dante likes to do his thinking during yoga or biking, things Nikki hasn't done in years.
Nikki's journey teaches her the difference between reading hot, sexy menage scenes and living them with the two best-looking guys she's ever met. Can she handle the Writes of Submission?

CHARLETTE MORGAN: I have to say that each book I have written contains a fantasy, or at least part of a fantasy of mine. In every book the Heroine is an independent woman who can take care of herself, yet chooses to share her life with a take charge (in the bedroom) kind of man. As it is in my real life, we choose to be together, we do not stay because we have to stay together. My fantasy man has to inventive, have a very strong protective nature, integrity, and intelligence. He must be large enough to cuddle up close with, causing his woman (Me) to feel safe and loved. My men must give as much as he/they take in a relationship. And last, but by no means least, my hero has to be playful, built to size, (yes I went there) and know how to make love with his woman.
