Julian King knows there is something more going on in Las Vegas besides Mac Securities upgrading his system.   He is blown away when Tara arrives with the team because he can’t get her off his mind.  Tara only has relationships with the ladies she grew up with and her teammates.  They are trustworthy, but she won’t do love.

The second book in the IAD Agency series, One Shot, is my favorite of the two books so far.  One Shot picks up with Bella planning her wedding, when word comes that saran gas was on the market to three known terrorists.  Because Julian is an informant to one of the agents, his hotel is being used as IADs base in Las Vegas.

The author did a lot of research about terrorism and some of what she brings to the story can be ripped out of headlines from the news.  Ms. Roma is either knowledgeable about some law enforcement issues or did some excellent research.  I love stories that keep law enforcement or military issues as realistic as possible within the context of the story.  Nothing ruins a story with these types of backgrounds faster for me.

The chemistry between Julian and Tara is there from the beginning.  Neither know quite what to make of it as both have always been able to take their past sexual relationships with a ‘no-strings’ mentality.  That is definitely not what happens.  I liked that, once Julian realizes that Tara means a lot to him, he goes out of his way to give Tara the space she needs, even as he pushes her for a permanent commitment.  The sex scenes between the two are hot.  There is a lot of humorous teasing as both staff and teammates become aware of the relationship.

There are a few surprises that show up and I liked the surprise ending.  Several new characters show up, along with those introduced in the first book, making for the potential of a lot of stories about IAD in the future and I am looking forward to reading them. Yes, readers do need to read this series in order.

Tara is a pint-sized firecracker of a counter-terrorist hot on the trail of the arms dealer who tortured and almost killed her and her partner. She is deadly at hand to hand or weapons combat and tough as nails. When she meets Julian, who owns the hotel where she and her team are staying in Las Vegas, it is instant attraction on her part, but instant love on his. Now all he has to do is convince her they belong together. She doesn’t do relationships, and won’t consider leaving her job or her team. Julian sets out to win her trust and her love by being patient, supportive, and loving in all ways; and Tara finally comes around from mere explosive sex to trust and finally love.

I loved these two, plus all the secondary characters as well. There is lots of humor, sass, and the aforementioned explosive sex. The terrorist story was well done, and so was the love story. One Shot is a great read for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Julian is as alpha as any alpha male can get. He's rich, sexy and damn he's good with the ladies. He's such an amazing character and when Tara walked into his life it was like a freaking tornado in a closed environment - grins! - This book was fast paced, it was a total page turner and I love how the characters interact. Even though Tara is tough as nails, Julian is able to get past her defenses and she his. I laughed in parts of the books, snickered in others, and fanned myself more than once. Great read and I totally recommend it!

~ For Your Naughty Reading List ~

Hello Everyone! Looking for something to curl up and read this weekend?

Under Pressure received a 5 Nymph review from the fabulous Literary Nymphs! Check it out!

Rating: 5 Nymphs

Bella returns to Chicago to pick up the pieces of her life after nearly dying at the hands of a stalker. Jason runs into Bella at a fund-raiser and really likes her feisty spirit. What happens when Bella’s brothers and Jason go head-to-head when they realize she and Jason are together means lots of conflict and yelling.

The first book of the IAD Agency series is full of suspense, hot chemistry and humor. Under Pressure examines a very serious alpha male in full alpha mode, as Jason understands the threat to Bella. The sparks fly when Bella and Jason are together and not just in the bedroom. I had to laugh out loud when Bella dug in her feet about Jason keeping her informed when the threat returns.

All the secondary characters, from Bella’s friends to Jason’s co-workers/friends, were funny especially since the men let their alpha personalities show. Bella’s threats when she was cooking were so funny. I loved the way the author wove these characters into the story and I could see where some pairings might show up future stories. I was a little surprised about the ending, especially in light of some earlier remarks in the story.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the IAD Agency series, and I know we will be seeing all these friends in future books. Under Pressure is one story that I will be reading again.

[Siren Classic: Erotic Romantic Suspense, HEA]

Jason MacBain is the perfect agent. Tall, dark, and deadly, he is a man who lives by simple rules—kill the bad guys and protect the world. Closed off from his emotions, Jason has never believed in love and doesn’t need anyone. But all that changes the night he meets Bella Moretti…
Isabella Moretti is a famous chef struggling to reclaim her life after she survives a vicious attack. Moving back to Chicago to recover and be closer to her family, Bella meets Jason and is frightened by the passion he stirs inside her. But now that Jason has found Bella, he is determined to claim her as his. And when her stalker reappears, Jason is under pressure to gain her trust, find a way to keep her safe, and do whatever it takes to end the threat to her for good.
Bella is forced to trust Jason with her safety, but does she dare trust him with her heart?
